Primary Duties: The Biomedical Technician performs on-demand and preventative maintenance on clinical electronic equipment and systems throughout the hospital. Primary responsibilities include the inspection, maintenance and repair of sterilizers, anesthesia equipment, laboratory equipment, ICU equipment, mammography and other imaging services equipment. Secondary responsibilities require cross-training on different clinical systems for on-call requirements. The biomed tech also works with departments on the procurement and service contracts for any new equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of Biomed Technician school or equivalent experience. Candidates are required to have a minimum of 5 years experience in clinical medical equipment repair. Experience with ICU monitoring systems, ventilators, surgical equipment, Laboratory support equipment and sterilizers is required. Must be able to read and comprehend repair manuals and blueprints, and have ability to visually access equipment operating conditions and take appropriate action. Must have a valid motor vehicle operator's license with a clean driving record for at least the last 5 years. Candidates must have the ability to climb ladders, move throughout the various hospital buildings/departments, and be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4pm

Week/Holiday Schedule: On call every 4th week
