The primary purpose of your job is to assure optimum elder care is provided for all elders of the Greenhouse. This includes coordinating, planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating elder care provided by the staff assigned to care for your elder assignments and to assure it is performed in accordance with their job levels, abilities, and in compliance with the policies and procedures of Tabitha, National Greenhouse Project, state/federal regulations standards and as may be required by the Director of Nursing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS
Physical stamina with above average physical strength required for bending, stooping, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Must possess a genuine interest in geriatric and compassion for those in a transitional stage of life.
- Must posses excellent nursing assessment skills and competent in developing a plan of care for the elders.
- Must possess a flexible attitude toward differing cultures and life styles.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, elders, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines that pertain to Medicare and long-term care.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult elders.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a elder’s condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Computer experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN/LPN in the State of
EDUCATION/TRAINING,
Graduate of an accredited
One year experience as a staff nurse and/or team leader preferred.
Assumes only responsibilities and performs only duties for which proper education has been provided, and which are accepted by the Licensing Board.
